About the position
The Senior Technical Analyst is responsible to solve exciting technical challenges by analyzing, troubleshooting, and designing vital services, platforms, and infrastructure while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance.
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Cybersecurity & Information Systems
- Non-bargaining
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply automation and software to any tasks or parts of the system that would benefit from it or are performed manually.
- Able to troubleshoot complicated, cross-platform issues handling OS, Networking, Database in on premise or cloud-based SaaS environment and handle live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, follow and implement System Reliability Engineering best practices.
- Monitor application performance takes steps to improve overall application performance and stability and follow through with implementation.
- Conduct system analysis, configuration management and develops improvements for system software performance, availability, and reliability.
- Administration of Windows Active Directory & Microsoft Entra ID environment
- Promotes and implements integration opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Handle escalation issues from Tier 1 support
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience using Microsoft on-premise stack of technology: Server 2012+, PowerShell, Windows 10, Active Directory, Group Policy etc.
- 8+ years of experience using PowerShell for Microsoft systems administration and various automation initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience of supporting/managing hypervisor-based products/infrastructure (VMware)
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft cloud stack of technology: Exchange, AzureAD, SharePoint, PowerAutomate, SSO and Identity Management.
- Strong understanding in infrastructure core components: storage, system, and/or networking.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including familiarity with concepts such as OSI stack.
- Strong understanding of Internet protocols and applications such as SMTP, DNS, HTTP, SSH, SNMP, etc.
- Strong understanding of RESTAPI concepts.
- Hands on knowledge of remote access technology, Citrix VPX, VPN, RDP etc
- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems particularly Microsoft SQL Server
- High degree of confidentiality is a must
- Must be adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut is considered an asset.
