This posting

This posting will be used to fill two (2) term full-time positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. One term will be from June 23, 2026 to January 6, 2028 and the other will be from August 28, 2026 to January 10, 2028. It will establish a 6-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

This opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Therapeutic and Behavioural Care Services, this position is responsible for planning, leading, implementing and evaluating the delivery and operation of therapeutic services within Continuing Care long-term care homes. This position may carry a clinical load in the incumbent’s trained discipline, and will also supervises Recreation Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Registered Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Coordinators of Volunteer Services, Spiritual Care Providers, Rehabilitation Assistants and Recreation Therapy Assistants or Therapy Assistants.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below.   • Registered with a Canadian regulatory body as a Recreation Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist, Physiotherapist or Registered Dietitian

  • Experience providing supervision to direct care staff within a multi-disciplinary team setting

  • Experience in planning, leading, implementing and evaluating the delivery and operation of therapeutic services and/or life enrichment services

  • Experience providing leadership and person-centered care in a long-term care setting is an asset

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

  • TB Screening

  • RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C (completed within the last 30 months)

  • Food Safe (completed within the past 2 years)

  • A valid Class 4 Driver’s License

  • WHMIS 2015

  • Current registration with a licensing body according to the candidate’s field of practice

  • Bending, reaching, climbing stairs

  • Potential for exposure to burns, dust, fumes and/or loud noises from equipment use
  • Exposure to infectious diseases
  • Exposure to animals and to second-hand smoke from residents
  • Exposure to emotional, physically abusive, and/or dissatisfied residents.
