About the role
Summary:
The Production Coordinator (PC) is the eyes & ears of the production management team and is the key resource person for the production acting as a link between all the artists and the production. The PCs have an intimate knowledge of the production assets and are in constant contact with the various
departments, feeding information back to the Production Manager and Line Producer.
The PC will assist the Production Manager in the management of a production by providing administrative support and fundamental analysis. A successful PC will be extremely organized, detail-oriented, demonstrate a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. They will be depended
upon to help identify problems, analyze them and offer solutions.
Role and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Gather updates from the various production departments and provide a detailed analysis to the Production Manager whilst updating production management software and/or trackers.
- Manage flow of information and transfer of information/work between departments
- Evaluate with the Production Manager, Supervisor and the artists’ targets, quotas and objectives
- Ensure that the artists have all the necessary information and warn production management in case of work overload
- Identify and anticipate potential problems or production delays and escalate issues to the Production Manager as needed
- Keep artists and supervisors up to date with information – client notes, shot changes, modifications – and evaluate impact on current work
- Work with the Production Manager to schedule staffing to meet production requirements, preparation, and upkeep of project documentation for all departments.
- Identify and report missing elements and creating and organizing protection copies of production materials.
- Facilitate design reviews, approvals and assignments
- Book production meetings as required
- Attend and prepare detailed notes from the various creative meetings for the production teams
- Prepare detailed reports dedicated to the Production and client: client notes, shot and schedule changes, or any important modifications
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to coach, support and assist Production Assistants in understanding their role in the production process
- Various other duties as the Production Manager or Line Producer
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience level – at least 2 years or a minimum of 2 productions in a production management position
- Strong understanding of animation processes and ability to problem-solve across all aspects of production
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suites and various management software such as Shotgrid
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, energetic, outgoing and involved
- Rigorous, thorough, detail oriented with very strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and to manage conflicting interests
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-energy environment as a team player
- Resourceful, proactive and reactive with ability to work effectively independently and seeking guidance when necessary
- Demonstrated ability to work with discretion and be sensitive to confidential information
- Collaborative with leadership skills to mentor & manage PAs
