ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to the Program Progressions and Events Coordinator.
SUMMARY
The Trades Camp Coordinator will be responsible for managing the delivery of KPU’s Trades Summer Camps. This role involves working closely with Continuing and Professional Studies (CPS) instructors and a team of Camp Leaders to support classroom management and ensure a positive, engaging experience for all camp participants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works under supervision and guidance of the Program Progressions Events Coordinator in conjunction with the Divisional Business Coordinator.
- Act as a liaison with the CPS office to support coordination of parent communication, feedback, and overall program experience.
- Involves training and mentoring camp leaders, conducting regular check-in meetings, and providing feedback and managing any necessary changes.
- Assists with planning, setup, coordination and operational logistics of Trades Summer Camps.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, campers, and parents/guardians.
- Ability to address and resolve issues that arise during camp operations.
- Works closely with assigned CPS instructor and Camp Leaders to help manage activities throughout the day.
- Serves as a point of contact throughout the day for the Camp Leaders and camp attendees.
- Supports the day-to-day execution of summer camps, ensuring smooth operations, adherence to safety protocols, and a positive, inclusive environment for all participants.
- Documents the camp with photography and/or film (using video).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with younger kids/kids camps
- Creative, energetic and outgoing
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with others
- Reliable, organized and detail oriented
- Problem solver, works independently and manages time effectively to meet deadlines
SALARY INFORMATION
Anticipated hourly pay rate: $25.00
