Description The Department of Clinical Neurosciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Clinical Research Assistant. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. The Clinical Research Assistant reports to the manager of the Multiple Sclerosis Research Program with accountabilities from the Principal Investigator and other senior team members. The position is required to follow outlined procedures and guidelines and to work on multiple research projects concurrently in environment where there is continuous change. There may be occasional evenings required to contact patients. The position may be required to work out of multiple sites (Foothills Campus, South Health Campus) Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to): Follow and adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), protocols, policies and procedures Communicate clearly and punctually with other MS Research personnel and liaise between MS Research, physicians, patients, drug companies and internal/external diagnostics departments Recruit eligible subjects for research projects Under the guidance of the principal investigator, perform chart reviews Obtain consent from subjects wishing to participate in health research projects and clinical trials according to SOPs and approved study protocol Collect, process and ship study specimens as applicable Communicate with and schedule patients according to study protocol Administer testing and questionnaires according to study protocol Review clinical charts and record findings according to study guidelines and requirements Develop study specific working documents and reports Execute document control of MS Research documents, policies and procedures, CVs and Licenses, training records, calibration records Archive and retrieve study records to off-site facility as required Enter data as required by study and update databases Perform general administrative duties, including; organizing, copying, scanning and filing of confidential study records Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor degree plus relevant experience is strongly preferred A certification in phlebotomy plus combined appropriate experience is an asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs. Experience in Connect Care and REDCap is an asset Ability to multitask and deal multiple simultaneous priorities in an effective, efficient manner Requires strong organizational and time management skill, accuracy, strong attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stake holders at all levels of the organization Application Deadline: August 18, 2026 We would like to thank all applicants in advance for submitting their resumes. Exigences
A bachelor degree is strongly preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills. Experience with Connect Care, REDCap, and a phlebotomy certification are considered assets for this role.
