Commercial Manager Wolf Lake Exploration | Calgary, Alberta | Full-Time About Wolf Lake Exploration Wolf Lake Exploration is a growing upstream oil and gas company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with production and infrastructure interests across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. The Opportunity We are seeking a Commercial Manager to own the full commercial value chain for our production — crude, gas, condensate, NGLs, and Sulphur — from wellhead to sales point. This is a hybrid commercial-and-analytical leadership role: part dealmaker, part analyst. You will negotiate the agreements that move our products to market, manage our joint-venture and midstream relationships, and build the economic analysis that underpins every major commercial decision we make. What You'll Do Marketing & Market Access Develop and execute the marketing strategy for all product streams to maximize realized price and netback Negotiate and administer sales, transportation, firm-service, and diluent/blending agreements, and manage physical logistics — nominations, scheduling, apportionment, and imbalances Optimize netbacks through market and hub selection, blending, transportation path, and timing, while managing differential and basis exposure (WTI, AECO, Edmonton/Conway/Mont Belvieu) Deliver market intelligence and pricing analysis to inform marketing, budgeting, and hedging, and maintain netback models and realized-price KPIs Joint Venture & Partner Management Act as commercial lead on operated and non-operated JVs, representing Wolf Lake on operating committees and managing work programs, budgets, AFEs, and ballots Protect our non-operator interests: scrutinize operator budgets and cost allocations, enforce agreement terms, and pursue audit rights Manage ROFRs, pre-emptive rights, AMI obligations, and partner consents, and resolve disputes with partners and operators Support acquisitions and divestitures with business-case development and due diligence on JV and partnership exposures Infrastructure & Midstream Commercial Own the commercial structuring of our infrastructure — gas processing, gathering, compression, water handling, and third-party access Negotiate processing, gathering, and handling agreements, tolls and fees, and take-or-pay or minimum-volume commitments Evaluate build-vs-toll and own-vs-outsource decisions, and develop the commercial case for tie-ins, capacity, and egress solutions Identify and capture third-party revenue on company-operated infrastructure, and monitor egress and counterparty risk What You Bring A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA, CFA, or CPA is an asset 8+ years in upstream or midstream commercial, marketing, or business development, with a proven track record negotiating marketing, transportation, processing, and JV agreements in the WCSB Deep knowledge of WCSB egress and pricing fundamentals across crude, gas, and NGL markets Fluency in industry agreement frameworks (CAPL, PJVA CO&O/GHA, PASC, unitization) and the AER regulatory environment Strong economic-modeling skills — netbacks, toll/tariff economics, DCF/NPV — and advanced Excel A skilled negotiator with sound commercial judgment, rigorous analytical habits, and the ability to self-direct across a broad agreement portfolio What We Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including health and dental coverage Paid vacation and statutory holidays On-site parking at our Calgary office A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where your commercial decisions have a direct and visible impact on company results How to Apply If you're ready to take ownership of the commercial value chain at a company where your work moves the needle, we'd love to hear from you.
