Mathematics Expert (AI Training) About The Role What if your years of graduate-level mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in the world? We're looking for Mathematics Experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help train cutting-edge AI models to think, reason, and solve problems the way the best mathematicians do. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for serious mathematical minds. You'll work asynchronously alongside AI researchers and domain experts, contributing deep expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related fields to make AI genuinely smarter. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and rigorous structure Design complex, meaningful problem statements that challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities Apply deep expertise in areas such as algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics to evaluate AI-generated solutions Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to identify gaps and improve model performance Ensure mathematical accuracy, clarity, and depth across all deliverables Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule Who You Are Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field Deep expertise in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics Experienced coding in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or applied projects Exceptionally detail-oriented — you catch errors others miss and hold yourself to a high standard of rigor A clear, precise communicator who can translate complex mathematical thinking into structured, readable output Fluent in English Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows Background in applied mathematics, mathematical modeling, or computational research Experience explaining complex mathematical concepts to non-specialist audiences Familiarity with AI or machine learning systems Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work Put your advanced degree to use on problems that actually matter — at scale Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
