Your Opportunity: This advanced level Respiratory Therapist II position which, under the general direction of the Manager and RT III, is responsible for performing specialized pulmonary diagnostic testing procedures and treatments which may include some or all of the following: pulmonary function testing, bronchial challenge testing, arterial blood acquisition/analysis, and assisting with interventional bronchoscopy procedures and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to aid the Physician in the diagnosis or treatment of patients with various cardiopulmonary and related disorders. Pulmonary Diagnostics Respiratory Therapists are responsible for ongoing quality assurance of testing results, as well as quality control and routine maintenance of the testing equipment. Pulmonary Diagnostics Respiratory Therapists are expected to participate actively in the education of students, staff, patients, physicians, and themselves. Description: As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable. Classification: Respiratory Therapist II Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Pulmonary Diagnostics Primary Location: Foothills Medical Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.50 Posting End Date: 20-AUG-2026 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 07-SEP-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 30 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $44.76 Maximum Salary: $57.72 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA). Additional Required Qualifications: Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy, Registered as a Respiratory Therapist with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta. 3-5 years acute critical care RRT experience required. Independent experience performing advanced pulmonary function testing, bronchial challenge testing, pentamidine deliver and bronchoscopy clinic experience. Current CPR certification. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities. Demonstrates the ability to identify learning needs, seeks out learning opportunities and professional development courses that will assist in achieving goals. Proven advanced decision making and problem solving abilities. Proven attention to detail with high level of accuracy. Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs. Ability to push/pull a stretcher. Ability to lift 15lbs up to waist height. Ability to wear an N95 mask for long periods of time. Ability to climb 2 flights of stairs. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to work in dim conditions. Ability to work while wearing lead gowns and airborne PPE. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced pulmonary function testing, bronchial challenge testing, and pentamidine delivery. Bronchoscopy clinic experience. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy clinic experience. Experience in clinical instruction/teaching. COPD and Asthma Educator. Experience using Connect Care. Outpatient ambulatory experience an asset.

Exigences
Requires registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta and 3-5 years of acute critical care experience. Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy school with current CPR certification and the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and wearing PPE.
