About the role
Mount Sinai Hospital’s Microbiology Lab is an environment for technologists who want depth, complexity, and real-world impact. Here, you’ll contribute to advanced diagnostic services across bacteriology, virology, and mycology—while supporting specialized programs that include donor testing for the Trillium Gift of Life Network, pharmaceutical investigations, and environmental surveillance. The lab’s academic setting and integrated clinical model offer visibility into both research and frontline care, along with exposure to national auditing bodies like Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (ACDx), and Health Canada. It’s a strong match for professionals who want their work to be clinically valued, technically challenging, and nationally connected.
Is this you?
Are you someone who builds confidence and clarity within a team to help them perform at their best? In this role, you bring guidance to the laboratory by supporting staff through complex testing protocols, facilitating communication, and helping to resolve operational barriers. Your ability to keep teams focused and supported ensures diagnostic services run smoothly, even when the workload is demanding.
You are an organized professional who thrives in environments where precision and efficiency are essential. In this role, you apply that skill by keeping documentation, processes, and daily workflows on track—ensuring that reports, reviews, and operational tasks are completed without delay. Your structured approach supports the team’s ability to deliver timely, accurate diagnostic results in a fast-moving clinical setting.
If you are someone who values continuous learning and professional growth, this role offers the chance to advance your expertise in a complex, high-volume clinical microbiology setting. You thrive in environments that offer variety and challenge, and you’re motivated by the opportunity to broaden your skills across an extended bacteriology and virology testing menu. Your commitment to ongoing development supports not only your own practice but the education of others within an academic and collaborative team.
