About the role
St. Albert Public Schools is looking for an Electrician
Instructor to teach and develop curriculum in the Electrician Apprenticeship
program.
The government is introducing new expedited teaching
certificates. These certificates will provide more flexible pathways into
teaching while maintaining high professional standards. For more information

More than 9000
students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12,
our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence
and their focus on citizenship and sound values.
FTE: Full Time and /or Part Time
(FTE to be determined)
Responsibilities:
Develop
and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Electrician
Apprenticeship program.

Ongoing
planning and curriculum review
-
Monitor
student proficiency. Serves as a resource to students demonstrating and
reinforcing proper skills and techniques as well as interpretation of
theory

Provide
orientation of students to procedures, workflow and operation of tools in
a shop setting. Demonstrates techniques or the use of products or
equipment to students, emphasizing safe practice and procedure
Qualifications
and Attributes:

A
valid Alberta Teaching Certificate or registered for the Developmental or
Conditional teaching certificate through Alberta Education

Alberta
Journeyperson Certificate
-
Minimum
5 years post-Journeyperson work experience
-
Effective
time management and organizational skills

Building
and maintaining professional, supportive and enthusiastic commitment to
students

Contributing
towards an effective positive learning environment within the school
community

Demonstrating
teamwork to contribute towards and maintain positive work relationships

Experience
