About the Faculty of Continuing Education
Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Continuing Education has provided high quality education to the Calgary community and beyond for more than 75 years. Serving more than 30,000 students per year, we offer a suite of Ministry of Advanced Education approved programs (occupational programs in massage, personal fitness trainer, and funeral education; academic upgrading; and our Transitional Vocational Programming), over 60 programs and 350+ courses to support professional and personal development in a wide range of topics, and a broad range of music and speech arts programming through our Conservatory. Our courses cover a diversity of topics, including but not limited to business, technology and health. These courses are offered in a variety of formats on campus, online, in the workplace, and in the community.
About the Role
Reporting to the Program Administrator, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of the Internationally Educated Midwives Bridging Program. This position is also responsible for monitoring assigned budgets; scheduling; implementation of and adherence to policies and processes; oversight of instructional team; learner support; participation in program and Faculty strategic planning; and programming oversight (including program review, curriculum revision/development, and marketing/promotion); a variety of team responsibilities; and managing stakeholder relations. These responsibilities and the resulting duties and activities focus on providing a positive learning, teaching, and working environment within the Faculty and institution as part of the university’s strategic plan and mission.
This position is part time position working 9 hours per week and is conditionally funded until September 2028.
Responsibilities

Act as the primary contact for instructors regarding schedules, instructional materials, and other course related details.

Prepare and use various tools to monitor course enrolment information and shares insights/statistics (past trends, current enrolment, forecasting, etc.) with program administrator(s).

Ensure all course details are arranged (instructional equipment, course change/cancellations, forms, etc.).

Ensure course materials are current, copyright compliant and distributed.

Organize logistics for mid-term and final exams, including the scheduling of proctors/proctoring services as required.

Possess an understanding of all aspects of the learning management system and alternate course delivery platforms to support course delivery.

Evaluate and plan course and program delivery, monitors enrolments, and reviews instructor/student feedback for operational and growth improvements.

Collaborates with supervisor to develop revenue generating budgets and appropriate course fee structures for courses/programs, including managing payments, invoices, supplies, and capital expenditures.

Use the institutional financial reporting application/tools to monitor budgets for accuracy and variances.

Schedule programs/courses to ensure optimal time to completion for students and maximum generation of revenue.

Schedule on and off campus courses/seminars and arranges appropriate facilities, equipment, and other resources.

Accountable to meet various deadlines related to program planning including course scheduling, textbook ordering, classroom bookings, contract creation, etc.

Recruit, interview, make recommendations for hiring, and onboards instructors.

Act as a primary contact for instructors to ensure the exceptional delivery of courses, including providing support with navigating Faculty and institutional policies and procedures and classroom management issues.

Discuss, create, and coordinate instructor contracts and payments.

Respond to learner inquiries, requests, and feedback to ensure excellent customer service and smooth program operations.

Oversee experiential learning progress and completion.

Coordinate and oversee the review and redevelopment of courses and/or programs including leading curriculum review projects, coordinating internal stakeholders such as the CE multi-media developer, instructional designer, and other MRU resources as necessary (Copyright, Library, etc.), overseeing copyright compliance, submitting curriculum submissions and other required documentation.

Evaluate and analyze courses/programs regularly to identify areas of improving the learner experience, instructor experience, and/or impacts to budget.

Facilitate all aspects of student practicum placements as required, including identifying and onboarding practicum locations, developing site resources, connecting with appropriate stakeholders when terms of agreements require modification, and presenting agreements to the vice dean for approval.

Work with varying regulatory bodies (national, provincial, etc.) as required to ensure the curriculum meets approved competencies, standards and performance indicators.
Qualifications

Three or four year Bachelor degree or equivalent

3 - 5 years of relevant experience, including experience with:
- Stakeholder communication
- Curriculum development and project management
- Budget and financial management
- In a post secondary environment
- Learner information systems and learning management systems is an asset

Supervisory experience is considered an asset

A combination of professional and academic experience may be considered as equivalent.
Salary: Grade 28: $38.18 - $48.34 per hour (Increases to $39.33 - $49.79 per hour on July 1, 2026)
