About the role
R.W. Tomlinson is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Water Truck Driver to support dust suppression and site cleaning operations at facilities, materials sites, and construction sites. The successful candidate will operate a water truck to control dust, clean site surfaces, and assist with general site maintenance.
**Position Type:**Seasonal / Full-Time
Season Duration: Present day to October 31
Hours of Work: 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Flexible hours may be required)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Operate a water truck for dust suppression, road wetting, and general site cleaning
-
Safely fill and refill the water truck from approved water sources
-
Operate a manual transmission vehicle
-
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
-
Maintain safe driving practices in active work zones and around pedestrians and equipment
-
Communicate effectively with supervisors and site staff
-
Monitor water usage and manage time efficiently to meet daily operational needs

Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or operational delays promptly
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
-
Valid Ontario DZ Driver’s Licence (required)
-
Experience operating manual transmission trucks

Demonstrated ability to safely operate and fill a water truck

Knowledge of city roads and routes is required
-
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
-
Previous experience in dust suppression, construction, landfill, or materials site operations is an asset

Strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulations

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physically able to perform duties associated with the role
WORKING CONDITIONS

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Operation in active construction, facilities, and materials site environments

Seasonal employment from present day to October 31
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The expected salary range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00 hourly. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
