The Senior Director, Valuations & Advisory Services, is a senior-level position and is responsible for overseeing and leading a team of professionals who provide valuation and advisory services to respective clients.
The Senior Director plays a crucial role in client engagement and business development. They work closely with clients to understand their specific valuation needs and provide tailored solutions. This involves maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and actively participating in business development activities. The Senior Director also oversees and manages multiple valuation and advisory projects simultaneously. They ensure that projects are properly resourced, deadlines are met, and deliverables meet client expectations. Well-versed in various valuation methodologies, the Senior Director provides expertise and guidance when applying a proven understanding of the principles of valuation.
Responsible for the valuation of all property types within the commercial real estate industry, the Senior Director, requires excellent working knowledge of the programs and tools common to the valuation industry which involves analyzing market trends, conducting financial analyses, and assessing risk factors.
II. Essential Functions and Job Duties
Business Development

Identify potential new clients and conduct business development activities to support current client relationships and secure new business.

Must have an established personal client portfolio- mandatory

Conduct pitch presentations for prospect and client meetings.

Foster and maintain strong working relationship in the Valuations & Advisory Services community and with clients.
Valuation & Advisory

Prepare accurate appraisal reports using the latest market information obtained from various internal/external partners.

Develop cash flow projections, using industry standard software such as Argus.

Ensure data collected as part of ongoing assignments is entered accurately into the company database in a timely fashion.

Continuously improve their knowledge regarding market and industry trends.

Manage and maintain client relationships.

Develop and implement initiatives for continuous process improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Work cooperatively with team members across the organization.

Coach, train, and mentor Analysts by transferring skill and knowledge and reviewing their results.

Develop, in collaboration with senior leadership, a strategic growth plan for the market, which includes short and long-term action plans and financial goals.

Coordinate closely with other market and business lines leaders to exchange best practices, accelerate innovation, and ensure quality and consistency in our customer service.

III. Required Education, Experience and Skills

Basic / Minimum Education requirement to perform the job: Bachelor's degree & AACI designation

Preferred educational requirements to perform the job: Equivalent work experience, or a completed degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Accounting and/or Economics

Relevant Years of experience required to perform the role: 5 to 8 yrs of exp

CRE experience / background to perform the role: Required
Additionally, the successful candidate should possess the following certifications, skills, abilities, and competencies:

The appraiser must be a registered member in good standing with the Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association (NSREAA) and hold a recognized designation (AACI) from the Appraisal Institute of Canada.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Strategic understanding of the real estate appraisal, consulting, and realty tax services business.

Working knowledge of Argus.

Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy, excellent product quality.

Attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Ability to deliver excellent customer service at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
-
Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
-
Strong relationship-building ability, proactive, results-oriented, and resourceful.
Approximate Salary Range for Role: 100% commission based.
