Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Donor Events - the Events Lead is a key member of the Philanthropy team, supporting an integrated fundraising model that advances the Foundation’s mission. This role is responsible for the planning and management of current partnership events, while also supporting new Foundation‑wide initiatives and campaigns. The Events Lead builds and maintains strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. In addition, this role plays an important stewardship and community engagement function, acting as an ambassador for the Alberta Cancer Foundation at events and within the broader community.
Please Note: This position is temporary, full-time for 16 months to cover a maternity leave.
How You'll Contribute
Event Management
-
Oversees the planning, execution and management of all Partnership events.

Lead logistics and operations of internal events as related to Major Gift announcements, Campaign celebrations, tours, and/or donor engagement.

Assist, support and/or lead committee members, while providing ongoing ideas and feedback on behalf of the Foundation.

Responsible for identifying volunteer requirements, and assist overseeing manage and coordination of volunteers at events.

Ensures the proper insurances, waivers, agreements etc. are obtained for each event
Philanthropy
-
Support Cabinet volunteers and/or Foundation staff in sponsorship and/or donor solicitations as required. This may include but is not limited to sponsorship requests, sponsorship fulfillment, registration, and reconciliation of online & offline pledges.

Work together with the Major Gift team to identify prospects and discover partnership opportunities
Acknowledgement & Stewardship

Responsible for the implementation of a stewardship strategy for all Partnership events, in conjunction with the Donor Impact team.

Coordinates stewardship deliverables including tours, acknowledgements, fulfillment reports, hosting post-mortem meetings, and appreciation events.
Donor Record Keeping & Website Development

Oversees the handling of event proceeds and complete reconciliation

Ensures all assigned donor records, event records, and data integrity are up to date and accurate aligning fundraising pages
What You'll Bring to the Team

Post-secondary education in Business Management, Hospitality, Marketing or a relevant disciple

Demonstrated success in planning, executing, and evaluating events, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes

Strong project management skills, including organization, time management, and attention to detail in fast-paced environments

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving

Clear Background Check

Class 5 Driver’s License & access to personal vehicle
