The Gaming branch is responsible to achieve annual revenue targets through provincially operated gaming activities that align with AGLC's vision of responsible gaming. The branch ensures that Gaming activities in the province are operated with integrity and social responsibility, aligning with Gaming Regulations and Board Policy and deliver on commitments to stakeholders in the province of Alberta.
Gaming activities included Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), Electronic Table Games (ETGs), Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), Lottery and Online Gambling.

JOB SUMMARY
At AGLC, our people help create a fun, responsible and trusted gaming experience for Albertans. We’re looking for a Technical Specialist who is passionate about learning, teaching, and technology to support the delivery of high‑quality technical training across our Gaming Services network.
This role plays a key part in ensuring our field technicians have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support AGLC’s electronic gaming products and systems across the province.
What You’ll Do
- Design, deliver, and evaluate technical training programs for electronic gaming products and systems, including VLTs, slot terminals, lottery ticket machines, redemption kiosks, iLink communications, Bally SDS operations, and related equipment.
- Deliver engaging, professional training to individuals and groups across Alberta using in‑class, virtual, hands‑on, and multimedia learning approaches, adapting content to meet varying experience levels.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Technical Assurance and stakeholders across AGLC to develop curriculum, training materials, learning plans, and quality‑assured instructional resources.
- Act as a technical training subject matter expert, responding to training‑related inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed, and supporting product launches, updates, and new initiatives.
- Monitor program effectiveness through participant feedback, metrics, and trend analysis, recommending and implementing continuous improvements to content, delivery methods, and tools.
- Support the evaluation, testing, and documentation of gaming software and hardware to ensure system integrity, reliability, and security.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners, contributing to projects, planning activities, and presentations as required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES

Post‑secondary education in Adult Education or Electrical Engineering

2+ years’ experience creating, delivering, and evaluating technical training for adult learners, ideally involving complex machinery or technology

Demonstrated expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and the ability to tailor training for audiences with varied technical knowledge and experience.

Proven ability to deliver engaging training using multiple methods, including classroom, virtual, web‑based, and hands‑on learning environments.

Experience designing, developing, implementing, and continuously improving training programs, curriculum, and instructional materials.

Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand, troubleshoot, and explain complex systems and processes in a clear, logical, and accessible way.

Ability to assess learning needs and recommend effective instructional and media solutions.

Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Knowledge of gaming technology or technical services operations is an asset, with the ability to learn and apply new technical concepts quickly.

Public speaking or presentation training is considered an asset.
