About the role
Stream-Flo Industries is currently seeking a Valve Technician to work with our Aftermarket Services team in Edmonton, Alberta.
If you have strong mechanical aptitude and want to learn how to assess and repair some of the largest equipment in the oilfield, this job is for you! Join a collaborative team, build valuable technical skills, and advance your career in the oil and gas industry.
Work Conditions:
- Monday to Friday, 8 hour days
- Overtime opportunities are available based on operational requirements.
- Work is primarily performed indoors.
Key position functions include:
- Repair all valve equipment while maintaining high standards of production, documentation and safety
- Tear down, reassemble and troubleshoot valve equipment for repair in accordance with Company standards and procedures and follow Work Order specifications
- Test, grease, inspect, and stamp valves
- Maintain accurate database and documentation
- Calibrate, function test, and trouble shoot choke valves, and a variety of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric positioners and actuation
- Record non-conformances as required
- Organize and maintain the work area, including maintenance of equipment, product storage containers and racking
- Assist with shop housekeeping and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Occasional yard maintenance work
- After-hours availability when required
Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:
- High School Diploma
- Related valve repair, rebuild, and/or teardown experience is an asset, but training is provided
- A basic understanding of hand and power tool functionality
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Good communication (oral and written), organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
