Job Description Summary

Are you an experienced Fuel & Lube Technician looking for a dynamic, empowering workplace where every day brings new challenges? Sunbelt Rentals is hiring a Road Technician to support our growing Power & HVAC division in Calgary.

In this role, you’ll perform fueling, oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and light mechanical work on our fleet of power generation and pumping equipment—working independently in the field to keep our customers’ operations running smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Work On

Our specialized Power Generation fleet includes:

• Diesel generators (20 kW to multi‑megawatt units)
• Fuel tanks, fuel cubes & transfer systems
• Load banks
• Industrial pumps
• Distribution gear, cabling & power support equipment
• Supporting systems (diesel engines, control panels, electrical components)

What You’ll Do

• Perform fueling, oil changes, coolant service, and routine fluid maintenance on diesel generators and related equipment
• Inspect generators, fuel systems, hoses, filters, batteries, and electrical connections
• Complete preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate service records and follow safety/environmental protocols
• Deliver exceptional customer service while working independently across customer sites
• Assist with basic troubleshooting on diesel engines and generator control systems
• Support emergency response situations when required (rotational on‑call)

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Fuel & Lube Technician, PM Technician, Service Technician, or similar
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, lubrication systems, and fueling procedures
• Ability to perform fluid exchanges, filter changes, and basic light mechanical work
• Knowledge of safe fuel handling, spill prevention, and environmental compliance
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced field environment
• Valid driver’s license and personal hand tools
• Experience with power generation or industrial diesel equipment is a strong asset
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn generator systems and controls

Base Pay Range

40.26 - 57.87
