Basic Function and Scope:
As a member of the interdisciplinary health care team the incumbent is responsible for coordinating, performing and evaluating cardiac diagnostic imaging, testing and procedure services based on the standards of practice of CMRITO, CorHealth Ontario, Sonography Canada, The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
Hours of Work:
Rotating shifts in the unit as required.
Pay Rate:
$36.19-$50.00
Qualifications & Requirements

Education
-
Graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography program accredited by Sonography Canada, the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent.

Evidence of continuing education in echocardiography.

Membership
-
Current ARDMS and/or Sonography Canada – Generalist certification required.

Current CMRITO registration.

Experience
-
Preference to candidates with a minimum of one year recent experience preferably in a hospital setting;
-
Experience with EQI Accreditation process considered an asset.

Required Skills
-
Excellent customer service skills with sensitivity to needs of multicultural clientele;

Capable of working independently;

Evidence of ongoing education, in accordance with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS requirement;

Working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems and Microsoft Office;

Ability to prioritize urgent care needs and work as a member of a team to support efficient workflow within the department and with other departments within the hospital;

Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous quality improvement;

Willingness to collaborate on program maintenance and development;
-
Must have previous good performance and attendance record;

Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients and families) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
