About the role
POSITION: Secondary Teacher - temporary
ASSIGNMENT: Social Studies, Mathematics, Career Life Education (Gr 10-11)
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: Correlieu Secondary School
**EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing April 10, 2026 until June 30, 2026, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of extension and/or reduction in FTE. **
**Basic Qualifications: **A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
Training Specialization:
- Secondary Education with a major/minor in Social Studies
- Secondary Education with a major/minor in Mathematics
**Related Teaching Experience: **Recent successful experience at the Secondary level
**A Reasonable Expectation: **based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
**Additional Qualifications: **
- Two or more courses at the 300 or 400 level in Social Studies
- Two or more courses at the 300 or 400 level in Mathematics
**Other: **
- Commitment to the School Growth Plan
- Commitment to the School-based Team
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
