Position

Supervisor, Trades - UG, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Superintendent, Electrician this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Leads installation, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of electrical and fixed equipment systems, including designing and improving electrical and mechanical systems and circuits.

• Develops and communicates daily work plans while coordinating personnel, tools, materials, parts, documentation, and drawings to support efficient underground maintenance operations.

• Drives continuous improvement in work methods, safety practices, and equipment performance, while planning and scheduling activities to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.

• Contributes to Maintenance Management System (MMS) development, including PM generation, record-keeping for inspections and calibrations, and ensuring a strong Preventative Maintenance program across electrical, mechanical, ventilation, and control systems.

• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production requirements; performs physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, large cable pulls, and 5 kV testing and installations; and manages warehouse stock levels.

• Applies extensive underground mining experience to prioritize site needs, respond to callouts, and ensure reliable operations in a dynamic environment.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Five (5) years of experience supervising Electricians and/or Millwrights in an underground mining environment, ideally including work in remote Arctic locations with limited resources, with additional assets including experience deploying Sandvik Tele-Remote systems and 5G LTE networks.

• Journeyman Electrician or Millwright Interprovincial Red Seal or Nunavut Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) is required.

• Possess a Workers’ Safety and Compensation commission (WSCC) Shift Boss or Level II Underground Supervisor Certificate is considered an asset.

• Experience using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) platforms, including SAP, complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $190,000.00
