Salary Scale: $151.29 - $ 182.28 hourly rate plus benefits (benefits are pro-rated to part-time status)

Family Physician Opportunity
We are an established Community Health Centre in downtown Ottawa, providing family medicine to a diverse population. In this dynamic environment, you will work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, chiropodists, dietitians, health educators, and other health professionals. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to our community.
We are seeking a family physician certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and licensed to practice in Ontario, who is looking to join a collegial and supportive practice.
This newly created position plays a key role in onboarding and rostering new patients to the clinic, directly supporting the government’s priority to improve access to primary care. In its first year, the role will focus on attaching a significant number of patients to care, with the goal of integrating them into an ongoing, team-based model within our interdisciplinary practice.
Position Description:
The Family Physician is a member of the Centre’s Integrated Health Services Team and works closely with team members to provide the highest quality of healthcare services to clients. The role of the Family Physician is to work with clients to help them achieve desired health goals.
Reporting Relationship:
The Family Physician is directly accountable to the Director of Integrated Health Services and through him/her to the Executive Director.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the licensing and regulatory requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario as the professional governing body.

Education and Language

Medical degree and family medicine residency from a recognized university

CCFP Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

License to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

Under the Centre’s designation to provide French Language Services:

French (oral expression): Advanced +

French (oral comprehension): Superior

French (reading comprehension): Advanced +

Fluency in English, both oral and written
Professional Experience
- Three to five years’ experience in a community-based primary care setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Commitment to and knowledge of community-based healthcare
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative care model
- Sensitive to the healthcare needs of diverse communities
- Sound judgment
- Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association

Conditions of Employment:
Hours of work will be developed in collaboration with the successful candidate to ensure a healthy work-life balance. A schedule of work will be based on the Centre’s hours of operation and program requirements and may include some evenings.
