Job Synopsis
Mennonite Central Committee Alberta (MCCA) has an opportunity for a youth to learn a diverse range of event services skills while participating in executing tasks such as making event venue arrangements; event equipment bookings; managing invitations, attendance, and registration of participants for scheduled events; assisting with technical and logistical details to ensure events are up and running; arranging event supplies and deliveries and general administrative duties related to events management. This role provides a quality work experience focusing on youth development and is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program. To qualify for Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ), youth must be 15-30 years old, legally entitled to work in Canada (citizen, permanent resident, or refugee), and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment.

- A minimum of one-year post-secondary education.
- Some event experience and some technical knowledge.
- Knowledge and ability in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with Spiffy, Eventbrite, Teams, and Slack is an asset.
- Knowledge of social media platforms for event planning activities
- Must have the ability to multitask, work with diverse personalities
and work within strict deadlines.
- Enthusiastic to learn the ropes of our unique events and administration.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Class 5 AB driver’s license (preferred)
- Flexible to occasionally work evening or weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Works in collaboration with the MCC Alberta team members to execute the event plans and checklists.
2.Assist with managing data for invitees and attendees for planned events.
3.Communicating and assisting with response to inquiries and event information.
4.Work with the events team to organize event space and area.
5.Execute event venue tasks including technical and planning assignments.
6.Coordination of events inventory and help with event supplies for delivery.
7.Assist with set up and tear down at event venues.
8.Helping with post event stewardship and debriefing (thank you notes, following up with participants, sending out feedback surveys et.)
9.General administration tasks- preparing emails, printing, photocopying, filing, minute taking etc.
