About the role
The GDI Training & Employment, a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research, invites applications for the following position:
Casual Administrative Assistant II – La Loche

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Employment Services Manager, the Administrative Assistant II will be responsible for ensuring quality clerical support to Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment through effective communication, organization and technical skills. Duties will include but not be limited to; front end reception, clerical support, responding to and directing public inquiries, preparing of meeting rooms and any other duties assigned by the Employment Services Manager.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum Grade XII, with some postsecondary training in a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a certificate or diploma in Office Education, Office Administration or business college training. Current post-secondary students with Monday availability are welcome to apply. Applicants will have a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with Institute staff and other external agencies; extensive understanding of Métis culture and employment and training needs of Métis. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer skills are essential.
Term: June 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027
Remuneration: GDI AA 2 wage grid
