Job Duties
1 To provide instruction and to facilitate interactive practical experiences for students in the Early Childhood Education diploma program.
2 Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using appropriate instructional methodologies in support of a blended learning experience.
3 Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students on the required learning platform (Bright Space).
4 Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
5 Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
6 Maintain and up-date curriculum materials.
7 Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
8 Engage in professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
9 Develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, and as required, set up and supervise students in a practical work placement.
10 Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
11 Attend program and school meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1 Recognized relevant four-year degree (Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Child and Youth Studies, Bachelor’s in Child Development).
2 Two years’ recent and relevant experience working in an Early Learning and Childcare Education setting as an Early Childhood Educator/Teacher/ECE Instructor.
3 Effective interpersonal skills.
4 Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
5 Effective instructional ability.
6 Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
7 Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
8 Demonstrates Valuing Diversity.
