Job description:

Thompson Construction is looking for an IT Support Specialist, reporting to the IT Manager, to provide in-office, front-line help desk support to all Thompson users across our locations. This role, while starting with user data, hardware and software, will be exposed to all aspects of IT including M365, SharePoint, Windows Server, server infrastructure, Active Directory, Cisco Meraki/HP network infrastructure, Starlink, and Apple mobile devices. If you have a general interest in all things IT or if you’re looking to dive deeper into one aspect of the industry, this position offers significant learning potential for a new IT professional.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 1-2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and standard business applications.
• Troubleshoot Windows, Office 365, and network related issues.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain workstations and peripherals following IT standards.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and licensing via Active Directory, AzureAD, M365, etc.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks, including device setup and access provisioning.
• Be actively involved in projects that move the organization into the future.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Highschool Diploma, Post Secondary education in Information Technology.
• 0-1yr of IT Experience.
• Clear communication skills
• An interest in people and process.
• A curiosity and interest in Information Technology.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Drivers’ license, with the ability to travel between locations that range from Calgary, AB to Fort McMurray, AB, when needed.
