This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $18.60 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.
This is a posting for an existing permanent full-time position
**Location: 1375 London Rd. Sarnia **
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to department's assigned budget
- Manages and directs activities pertaining to department staff, including hiring, coaching, training and scheduling.
- Responsible for ensuring products meet fresh standards
- Ensures proper ordering, purchasing and inventory control, develops and implements strategic plans to achieve projected gross margin
- Deals directly with suppliers in store line-ups, responsible for building displays
- Ensures adherence to Company policies and procedures including Customer Service Policy, government regulations, health & safety, sanitation, security etc.
- Support with overall store operation including store opening and closing
- Oversees and responsible for the operations of the Night Crew
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grocery experience which includes excellent product knowledge, rotation and merchandising experience
- Superior customer service skills
- Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours; of bending, twisting and turning and reaching; and of lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Available to work days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, as per the C.B.A.
