About the role
Job Description

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for performing environmental, health, and safety duties. These responsibilities include providing technical support, incident investigation, training, implementation and maintenance of the environment, health and safety system. The EHS Coordinator is an integral member of the EHS Department and will assist in enhancing the organization's ability to proactively coordinate EHS and ensure BIOVECTRA facilities comply with current EHS legislation and industry best practice.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining written EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensuring EHS compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Maintaining and safety data sheets for facility’s chemical inventory.
- Ensuring compliance with provincial spill reporting requirements.
- Providing training to employees on company’s procedures.
- Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on BIOVECTRA's EHS performance.
- Providing support to staff by having a visible presence, promoting EHS initiatives, goals and objectives. as well as chairing JOSH meetings.
- Providing assistance to supervisors in incident investigations, identifying root causes, reporting, documenting and follow-up.
- Conducting internal EHS Audits and workplace inspections.
- Preparing and submitting annual reporting requirements as required.
- Adhere to BIOVECTRA's Health and Safety Policy as outlined in Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
- Additional duties assigned, based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education with a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or an equivalent level of work experience.
- 4+ years EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably GMP.
- Knowledge of Provincial Health & Safety Act and Regulations an asset.
- Experience delivering Occupational Health and Safety training an asset.
- Knowledge of the principles of EHS Management systems an asset.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations is required.
- Experience in industrial hygiene would be considered an asset.
- Ability to multi-task and interchange when required.
- Efficient at prioritization and scheduling.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient communicator, both written and oral.
- Strong computer skills in various software applications such as Word and Excel to prepare documents and reports.
- Ability to lead meetings and give presentations.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $93,521.00 - $146,126.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
