Industrial Metals is seeking a reliable, industrious, team-player to join our evening crew in our downstream department.

Reporting to the Downstream Supervisor, the ideal candidate is someone who has a good work ethic, shows initiative, is reliable/good attendance, and can follow instructions, especially the company's Health & Safety rules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifying, sorting and picking various materials/metals pieces
• Routine maintenance and clean-up as instructed by the supervisor
• Recognizing operational problems of the machine and reporting them to the supervisor
• Operation of equipment and machinery as required (and when certified) while adhering to all safe work practices and procedures
• Working in accordance with all company health and safety guidelines
• Assists in other areas as needed ie. yard, shop, or warehouse
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Previous industrial or manufacturing is an asset

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting of up to 50lbs)

• Reliability and good attendance record

• Quick and attentive learner

• Detail-oriented and consistent performer

• Good hand-eye coordination

• Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity

• Working knowledge of safety standards

• Good English communication skills

• Ability to work with a diverse group of people

• Demonstrate the ability to work professionally, and respectfully with a positive attitude in a fast-paced working environment

• High level of personal integrity

• Strong work ethic and ability to complete work in a timely manner

• Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed

Working Conditions & Other Important/Relevant Information:

• Work location: 550 Messier St.

• Working hours: 10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday – 3:15pm to 1:45am

• Evening shift premium available

• Prolonged exposure to loud equipment/machines

• Prolonged periods of standing

• Physically able to lift up to 50lbs

• Must have access to vehicle/means of transportation to work evening shifts

• All PPE provided with the exception of

  steel-toed safety boots
