Responsibilities Position Summary: Specimen accessioning including referred out specimen packing, result data entry – Preliminary Unverified, when required Inventory control including assessment, receiving, storage and supply management in all areas Core and minor equipment maintenance including CS5100, Aptio, Auwi and more. POCT support including, but not limited to, running QC, comparability’s, calibrations, maintenance and technical support on various equipment Assist Technologists with general duties within the scope of a Laboratory Assistant III including, but not limited to, reagent preparation, set up of minor tests, bone marrow processing, blood product inventory and preparation of kits General housekeeping including daily, weekly and monthly laboratory tasks in all areas Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and stat holidays Other duties may include computer entry, answering telephone and other tasks within the scope of a Laboratory Assistant III. Qualifications Graduate of Laboratory Assistant course, preferably with certification by the OSMT Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Laboratory setting Biochemistry Micro-Creditable for MLA, an asset High level of organizational and time management skill; and excellent written and verbal observational and communication skills Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to, lifting heavy reagents and supplies, etc. Demonstrated effective documentation skills. Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality, availability and performance required.
