Job summary: Under the supervision of the Merchandising Manager, the Junior Buyer supports the buying function by assisting with product selection, assortment planning, category analysis, and order management. The role helps ensure the right products are available at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the right price, while supporting business performance through accurate reporting and cross-functional coordination. Responsible for: Assist in building seasonal assortments aligned with brand strategy, customer needs, and category objectives. Support product selection through analysis of trends, competitor activity, historical performance, and customer preferences. Monitor sales performance, sell-through, margin, inventory levels, and stock availability to identify risks and opportunities. Produce weekly and ad hoc reporting on key business metrics to support category management and buying decisions. Support order placement, delivery tracking, and order accuracy in partnership with planning, allocation, and operational teams. Assist in managing inventory flow to optimize product availability, support turnover, and minimize markdown exposure. Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences through research and competitive shopping. Qualifications: Degree or certification in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail, or a related field. 1–2 years of experience in retail, merchandising, buying support, PO administration, allocation, internship, or co-op experience in retail. Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret sales, margin, inventory, and sell-through data. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization. Commercial awareness, customer focus, and interest in market trends and competitor activity. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic analysis.
