Duties & Responsibilities Conduct scheduled and random vehicle and foot patrols of the shopping centre, parking areas, entrances, service areas, and property perimeter. Follow assigned mobile patrol routes and complete all required checkpoints within the scheduled timeframe. Monitor for suspicious activity, trespassing, vandalism, theft, property damage, safety hazards, and unauthorized access. Inspect doors, gates, loading areas, and other designated access points to ensure the property remains secure. Respond to alarms, security incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance. Safely operate an assigned patrol vehicle and follow all traffic laws, company policies, and site procedures. Maintain communication with dispatch, site management, and other security personnel throughout the shift. Address trespassers and unauthorized individuals professionally, using appropriate de-escalation techniques. Contact police, emergency services, or management when escalation is required. Assist emergency responders and law enforcement personnel as needed. Complete accurate patrol logs, checkpoint records, incident reports, and other shift documentation. Report maintenance issues, property damage, hazards, and unusual activity promptly. Follow all post orders, emergency procedures, company policies, and client requirements. Perform additional security and mobile patrol duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Valid British Columbia Security Worker Licence required. Valid driver’s licence required. Clean driver’s abstract and demonstrated safe driving practices may be required. Access to a reliable personal vehicle that can be used as shelter while stationed at the site overnight. Previous mobile patrol, mall, retail, parking, or property security experience is an asset. First Aid certification is preferred. Comfortable conducting both vehicle and foot patrols in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working independently during overnight hours. Able to follow patrol routes, schedules, checkpoints, and site-specific instructions. Strong observation, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills. Able to respond calmly and make sound decisions during incidents and emergencies. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Able to prepare clear and accurate patrol logs and incident reports. Professional, dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision. Available every Sunday from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., with flexibility to accept additional shifts on an on-call basis. #GTHP Why Join Guardteck Growth Potential We’re expanding quickly and promote from within.
