Role Descript ion Reporting to the President, the General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the business, ensuring the company continues to operate safely, efficiently, and profitably while building on a legacy of quality and customer service. As the General Manager, you will: Provide overall leadership for the organization's operations, financial performance, and long-term business su ccess.Develop and execute business plans that support growth, profitability, and operational excel lence.Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture built on accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improv ement.Oversee ready-mix production, fleet operations, plant maintenance, scheduling, and quality standards to ensure efficient and reliable opera tions.Drive continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory require ments.Monitor key business and operational performance metrics and implement strategies to improve re sults.Lead capital planning, equipment renewal, budgeting, forecasting, and resource alloc ation.Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and industry partners while supporting business development opportun ities.Support labour relations, workforce planning, succession planning, recruitment, and employee development initia tives.Represent the organization within the community and industry while strengthening South Shore Ready Mix's reputation as a trusted pa rtner. Your qualifications i nclude: Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing manufacturing, industrial, construction materials, aggregates, ready-mix concrete, heavy equipment, or other relevant operationally intensive bus inesses.Strong business acumen with experience managing financial performance, budgets, and operational p lanning.A proven ability to lead through managers while building engaged, high-performin g teams.Experience driving operational improvements, implementing process efficiencies, and managing organizational change.Strong relationship-building skills with customers, employees, suppliers, and community stake holders.Knowledge of health and safety, environmental compliance, and operational risk man agement.Experience leading employee relations and workforce development init iatives.An engineering, business, operations management, or related educational background would be considered a n asset.
