Kraken Robotics is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability. * Conducting circuit simulations using software tools to analyze and optimize circuit performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards. * Designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for electrical systems, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC/EMI compliance. * Developing system architectures and integrating electrical components into larger systems, considering overall functionality, performance, and safety requirements. * Leading electrical engineering projects from concept to completion. Support the project management office in developing work breakdown structures. * Working closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other components. * Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements. * Developing test plans and procedures, conducting testing, and performing validation to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems. * Establish design criteria for projects using required codes and standards. * Participate in the design review process. * Review and approval of engineering deliverables. * Work with the Production department to provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process. * Work with customers to understand project requirements and provide operational support while in the field. * Mentor Electrical Engineers and Technologists. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE * Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline with 4+ years experience. * Excellent design standards and strong troubleshooting skills. * Effectively focus on high level project objectives while executing detailed design tasks. * Incredible attention to detail. * Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record for success. * Experience in the design specification, installation and connection methods of electrical equipment. * Design and review PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings and provide input into new product designs. * Strong written and oral communications skills (technical reporting). * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment. * High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize task. PREFERRED SKILLS * Experience with the following would be considered an asset: * * Experience with Altium. * * Experience with Zuken E3. * * Experience with Sonar systems especially in an ocean environment. * * Experience with LabVIEW. * * Experience with high voltages. * * Experience with ABB motors and drives. * * Experience with embedded controllers.
