We specialize in overhead cranes, hoists, welding equipment, material handling solutions, and industrial services, with branches across Alberta and Saskatchewan. We’re looking for a creative and energetic Social Media Coordinator to join our Calgary team and help tell the Kristian Electric story. If you enjoy creating content, taking photos and videos, editing Reels, writing captions and finding creative ways to make a company stand out online, this could be a great opportunity to start or grow your career in social media. Position Summary Reporting to the Marketing Lead, the Social Media Coordinator will focus on the day-to-day creation and management of content for Kristian Electric’s social media channels. Social media and content creation will be the primary focus of this position, with opportunities to support other marketing initiatives and projects as needed. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Lead to plan and create content, find stories throughout the company, capture photos and videos, edit content, schedule posts and help keep our social channels active and engaging. This is a hands-on role. Some days you may be filming an overhead crane being installed. Other days you could be creating a Reel about our welding department, photographing a company event, helping with marketing materials or working with employees to turn a project into engaging social content. Key Responsibilities Social Media Management Help manage Kristian Electric’s social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Plan, create, schedule and publish social media content. Help maintain the company social media content calendar. Monitor comments, messages and engagement. Identify social media trends and new content opportunities. Track basic social media performance and identify what content is performing well. Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual presence across social channels. Content Creation Capture photos and videos of projects, products, employees, events and day-to-day life at Kristian Electric. Create short-form video content, including Reels and TikToks. Edit photos and videos for social media. Create social media graphics using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools. Write engaging captions and social media copy. Work with employees to turn their knowledge, projects and accomplishments into engaging content Visit different departments, job sites and occasionally other Kristian Electric locations to capture photos, videos and other content. Marketing Support While social media and content creation will be the primary focus, you’ll also support the Marketing team with other projects and initiatives as needed. Create social media and marketing assets that support company campaigns. Promote distributor programs and seasonal promotions. Support recruitment and employer branding initiatives. Assist with trade shows, sponsorships, company events and community initiatives. Assist with digital and print marketing materials, including advertisements, flyers, product promotions, internal communications and event materials. Support showroom merchandising and branch branding initiatives. Help maintain a consistent and professional Kristian Electric brand across marketing materials and channels. Work with the Marketing Lead to support company marketing campaigns and other creative projects. Support other reasonable marketing-related duties and projects as needed. Collaboration Work closely with employees from all departments to identify stories and marketing opportunities. Help develop a simple content request process that encourages employees to submit ideas, project photos, and success stories. Support marketing initiatives across all Kristian Electric branches. Coordinate with branch teams to plan and capture content for new products, services, and events. Build relationships across the company to encourage ongoing content creation. You Should Be Creative and genuinely interested in social media and content creation. Comfortable taking photos and filming video. Comfortable approaching and working with different people to create content. A strong writer and communicator. Organized and able to manage a regular posting schedule. Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Willing to learn about the industry, products and services. Able to work independently while collaborating with the Marketing team. Comfortable working in office, shop and industrial environments when capturing content. Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and be comfortable travelling occasionally to other Kristian Electric branches, job sites, trade shows and company events to capture content and support marketing initiatives. Education & Experience Education or training in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design or a related field is an asset, but not required. Previous professional social media experience is an asset, but we welcome entry-level applicants. Experience with any of the following is considered an asset: Canva Adobe Creative Suite CapCut or other video editing software Photography and videography Social media scheduling tools Creating Reels, TikToks or other short-form video content Managing social media accounts for a business, organization, school project or personal brand Have a portfolio, social media account or school project that shows what you can create?
