CARPENTRY INSTRUCTOR POSITION TYPE: REGULAR (100%) POSITION START: August 15, 2026 KPU proudly offers all learners opportunities to achieve success in a diverse range of programs that blend theory and practice, critical understanding, and social and ethical awareness necessary for good citizenship and rewarding careers. FACULTY OVERVIEW: The Faculty of Trades & Technology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University is currently seeking a Regular Fulltime Carpentry/Building Construction instructor to delivery. Foundation training and Apprentice training Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. POSITION OVERVIEW: This Carpentry/Building Construction training is primarily on campus at KPU Tech. More information concerning the working conditions for a faculty member are outlined in Article 12 of the Kwantlen Faculty Association (KFA) Collective Agreement. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE). A minimum of five years current industry experience as a Carpentry/Building Construction Journeyperson. Also required is the knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with students. Preference will be given to those applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching successfully, current carpentry skills and five (5) years supervisory or administrative experience. Contract consideration may be subject to a practical assessment. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check. *SALARY INFORMATION: Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status. This competition is for a maximum FTE of 100% (Regular). When possible, priority will be given to the candidate(s) who can maximize the FTE either individually, or collectively, as such please indicate on your application your preferred workload percentage.
