Role Description The Medical Aesthetician/Associate Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based at La Vie Academy’s South Surrey, BC location. This position combines hands-on medical aesthetics practice with teaching responsibilities, including demonstrating procedures, guiding students through practical labs, and supporting classroom instruction. Day-to-day tasks include performing and supervising treatments such as laser hair removal, microneedling, and other non-invasive procedures in accordance with safety and clinical protocols. The role involves mentoring students, providing feedback on technique and professionalism, and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment. The Associate Instructor will also assist with treatment room preparation, equipment maintenance checks, client and model scheduling support, and adherence to academy policies and regulatory standards. Qualifications Clinical aesthetics skills in procedures such as Laser Hair Removal and Hair Removal, with the ability to demonstrate and supervise treatments safely and effectively. Experience or training in Microneedling and related advanced medical aesthetics techniques, with strong knowledge of treatment indications, contraindications, and aftercare. Foundational understanding of Medicine or healthcare principles relevant to medical aesthetics, including skin anatomy, infection control, and patient safety. Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, clients, and models, and to support a welcoming and respectful environment. Previous experience as a medical aesthetician, nurse, or other regulated healthcare professional in a clinical or spa setting is highly beneficial. Experience in teaching, training, precepting, or mentoring learners in a practical skills environment is an asset. Relevant certification or diploma in Medical Aesthetics or a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles. Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics, regulatory compliance, and health and safety standards.
