Duties And Responsibilities The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the management of daily operations in the Pharmacy department, including drug distribution services, medication management systems, narcotic and controlled substance oversight, the centralized intravenous additive program, human resources, and department operations. Working collaboratively with the Pharmacy leadership team, interdisciplinary healthcare providers, and organizational leaders, the Pharmacy Manager provides operational and clinical leadership to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered pharmacy services. Through effective planning, budgeting, resource management, and problem solving, the Pharmacy Manager is accountable for optimizing departmental performance, leading and developing staff, advancing quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, accreditation requirements, and professional standards, and achieving organizational goals while promoting operational efficiency and effective interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualifications " Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent entry-to-practice degree); Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or other advanced pharmacy degree is an asset " Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists " Minimum of five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience, including progressive supervisory, management, or leadership responsibilities. " Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture and support staff development in a unionized environment. " Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, change management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, assess, and evaluate. " Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationship with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and manage conflict constructively. " Comprehensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice, healthcare operations, current healthcare trends, Accreditation Canada standards, Ontario College of Pharmacists Hospital Inspection standards, and applicable legislation. " Experience in budget development and management, including monitoring pharmaceutical expenditures, utilization, and cost-containment initiatives.
