Our client is a diversified privately-held company that has been in business for over 25 years. They have over 500 employees and are growing across North America. This will be an on-site role located in Brampton, ON. THE POSITION Reporting to the CFO, our client has the immediate need to recruit a VP Finance who will play an important role in leading and managing the financial operations and reporting of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, providing strategic financial guidance, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization. Your expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and decision-making will be crucial in driving the company’s financial performance and ensuring its long-term financial stability. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: ·Lead the financial reporting process and maintain effective controls over the responsibility, accuracy, and completeness of the results through a detailed understanding and ownership of the accounting processes and core operational systems. ·Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling processes to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial projections. ·Conduct regular analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. ·Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, treasury, taxation, and financial systems. ·Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation to optimize financial resources. ·Implement internal controls and best practices to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity. ·Provide financial insights and analysis to support key business decisions, such as investments, mergers and acquisitions, and expansion initiatives. ·Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture. ·Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions. ·Identify accounting simplification where appropriate. ·Manage the annual external audit process. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS ·Approximately 12+ years of demonstrated technical financial acumen in accounting and reporting. Preferably have trained as a CPA with one of the public accounting firms. ·A minimum of 3-5 years at the Director/VP level having managed a team. ·Current or recent experience working in a public-company reporting environment either leading or having responsibility for multiple facets of the finance function. ·Strong technical accountant with a preference for someone with IFRS reporting experience. ·An understanding of tax planning and tax structuring. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS ·Strong communication and interpersonal skills. ·Hands-on; will “roll up sleeves” to do the work. ·Highly analytical and intellectually curious. Able to “connect the dots” and communicate financial data in a meaningful way. ·High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. ·A positive and “can do” attitude and gets things done; demonstrates initiative. EDUCATION ·University Degree. ·CPA designation COMPENSATION Our client is targeting a base salary of approximately $150,000 to $200,000 plus bonus. There is some flexibility for the right candidate.
