Position Overview Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected and well-established organization in the structural steel and custom fabrication space in their search for a Structural Engineer. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in structural steel connection design who wants to play a critical part in bringing industrial and commercial projects from concept to shop-ready reality. Rather than focusing on full building design, this position is centered on the technical design, review, and approval of steel connections, ensuring solutions are safe, practical, and ready for fabrication and installation. Key Responsibilities Design, review, and approve structural steel connections for a variety of industrial and commercial applications, including welded, bolted, shear, and moment connections Review drawings, calculations, and shop-ready details to ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and fabrication requirements Stamp and seal engineering documents, connection drawings, and supporting calculations as required Partner closely with drafting, detailing, and fabrication teams to develop efficient, buildable, and code-compliant solutions Provide technical support for RFIs, site inquiries, and field-related design clarifications during fabrication and installation Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to resolve design challenges in a practical and solutions-focused manner Ensure alignment with Canadian engineering standards and applicable welding codes, including CWB requirements Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng) in Manitoba, or eligibility for immediate registration 3-5+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with direct exposure to steel connection design Proven experience reviewing, stamping, and sealing engineering drawings and calculations Strong technical knowledge of steel connection methodologies, fabrication practices, and constructability considerations Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD, or S-Frame Familiarity with Tekla, AutoCAD, shop drawings, and 3D fabrication models Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, drafting, and production teams Rewards Competitive compensation package in the $110,000-$130,000 range, reflective of experience and stamping expertise Opportunity to work in a highly collaborative and technically specialized steel fabrication environment Stable and growing organization with a strong reputation in the market Meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact on project execution and engineering quality To Apply If you are interested in this opportunity, please forward your resume (in Word format) directly to [email protected], referencing “Structural Engineer” in the subject line of your email.
