The well-respected Institutional Fixed Income division has a strong presence in Government & Corporate underwritings across Canada, as well as in market making & trade execution. We are seeking dedicated and highly motivated candidates possessing leadership and teamwork skills, as well as a good understanding of the Fixed Income landscape, to fill the role of Institutional Fixed Income Sales representative. The incumbent will provide distribution of fixed income securities to qualified institutional investors in Canada as outlined below. Responsibilities Cover a portfolio of institutional Fixed Income clients on rates, provincial bonds, NHA MBS, and credit. Cultivate relationships, form a good understanding of client mandates, expand primary distribution and secondary trading, and build a profitable book of business. Grow breadth of LBS clients. Coordinate with DCM, Trading, and Money Market teams on everything from high-level business priorities to day-to-day risk and deal distribution. Identify and help monetize cross selling opportunities with existing client base on FX and Institutional Equities. Organize meetings between clients and issuers, as well as internal stakeholders. Continuously improve one’s own understanding of the Canadian fixed income market. Work with the rest of the sales team to develop trade ideas and market views to be communicated to clients. Qualifications Experience on a fixed income trading desk or in a sales desk environment. B.B.A., Finance, MBA and/or a C.F.A. designation. Strong written and oral communication skills in English (French is an asset) Proven business development/sales experience Good analytical skills as it relates to understanding different types of fixed income structures, macro trends, and market impact of various economic releases Proficiency with MS Excel and Bloomberg Understanding of Banking/Capital Markets regulatory environment. Proven work ethic, team player. Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and CPH completed, an asset. Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
