Our clients are leaders in the jurisdictions where we are located and around the world. We are seeking a Junior Leasing Clerk to join our Commercial Real Estate group. This position is well suited to someone who is interested in developing their commercial leasing and real estate experience within a collaborative and supportive team. The successful candidate will assist with the administrative and procedural aspects of the practice, support new and existing matters, and gradually take on more substantive leasing responsibilities as their knowledge and experience develop. The role will also provide cross-training and continuity within the team. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Standard Responsibilities Assist with preparing lease documentation, offers to lease, extension agreements, amending agreements, possession notices, termination agreements and other documents relating to the commercial leasing lifecycle. Prepare initial drafts of documents and correspondence using established precedents and instructions from lawyers and paralegal team members. Review, format, proofread and compare legal documents, correspondence and related materials for accuracy and consistency. Organize and maintain electronic files, precedents, forms and supporting documentation. Enter, maintain and update tracking information relating to the status of lease documents and other real estate matters. Coordinate the execution, delivery and filing of documents and follow up on outstanding items as required. Communicate professionally with clients, tenants, landlords, property managers, legal counsel and other parties under the direction of the supervising lawyer or senior paralegal. Support the Real Estate group with new matters and additional work as required. Assist with updating precedents, documenting procedures and cross-training within the team to support continuity and knowledge sharing. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in a similar role will be considered an asset. An interest in developing knowledge of commercial leasing and real estate transactions. Previous experience preparing or working with commercial lease documentation is an asset. General knowledge of property management or commercial leasing procedures is an asset. Strong organizational, proofreading and document-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow instructions, use sound judgment and ask questions when clarification is required. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team. Highly dependable, adaptable and motivated, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. The typical salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
