The Opportunity Leavitt Machinery is looking for a skilled Field Technician (Dock & Door) to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician performs integral services for our customers by maintaining dock equipment, including dock plates and overheard doors. Essential Duties & Responsibilities As a Field Technician, your key responsibilities will include: Install various equipment ranging from docks, doors, operators, vertical seal packages, and traffic light systems to upgrade customer needs Adequately diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dock equipment, including dock plates and overhead doors Build relationships with customers, communicating a clear understanding of job scopes and repair requirements Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on assigned equipment, establishing procedures and cost guidelines at customer’s facility Conduct tasks assigned from the Dispatcher, maintaining communication and providing updates as needed Prepare all required parts before visiting job sites and actively communicate with the Parts department to ensure required parts are available Complete work order forms for assigned jobs Adhere to warranty policies, and complete necessary warranty documentation Report any safety incidents according to company policy Required Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies: Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket is an asset Experience in electrical troubleshooting preferred Experience with welding, torching and grinding steel preferred Ability to read and understand schematics Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders Valid driver’s license required Ability to travel to customer sites within the local region as needed Benefits & Perks Leavitt Machinery is proud to offer competitive compensation and flexible benefits coverage for all eligible employees, including an employer matching RRSP plan: Company paid medical health care plan for you and your dependents Dental plan, vision plan, and prescription drug coverage Annual health care spending account Life Insurance, short term disability, and travel insurance Sick leave plan – 100% employer paid Employee assistance programs RRSP matching Ongoing professional development opportunities The base pay range for this role is: $33.00 to $42.00 per hour depending on experience.
