Lengkeek Vessel Engineering Inc. (LVE) is seeking a Naval Architect Engineer or Technologist for full-time employment at our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office. Who are we? We have a diverse range of projects which include (but certainly not limited to!): Small craft design (such as pilot boats, pleasure craft, small commercial vessels) Technical investigations, options analysis, and refit support Owner’s representation & project management for projects of all sizes Tidal platform design Fleet support for ferry operations, Canadian Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy We prioritize green technology and strive to move into the future in a sustainable way. Our company works closely with the renewable energy industry and collaborates with various partners on development and implementation of green solutions in the marine industry. What should you expect? As a Naval Architect or Technologist at LVE you’ll enjoy: A mix of office work and site work; Projects ranging from large turnkey design projects to small modification projects; Working as part of a collaborative team on larger projects and working individually when managing your own projects; Developing technical data packages, including drawings, specifications and reports; modelling and hull development; Conducting inclining experiments, structural and stability analyses and power /speed calculations; Participating in industry events and marketing opportunities. Who are we looking to add to our team? The ideal candidate shall Posses a bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in Naval Architecture from an accredited Canadian university or college; have experience with structural design and drafting; have knowledge of Canadian regulations and classification society rules have experience working with regulatory bodies in Canada as well as classification societies; be proficient in English, both written and verbal; be eligible for government security clearance; The following qualifications will be considered assets: 3+ years of work experience in marine design; proficiency in GHS & Rhino professional Finite Element Analysis experience (FEMAP preferred); proficiency in Canadian French.
