The Transition Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end transition of Digital Workplace Solutions (DWS) services from contract signature through operational handoff and steady-state delivery. This role serves as the single point of accountability for coordinating all transition activities across customers, delivery teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure services are implemented on time, within budget, and aligned to contractual commitments. The Transition Manager drives complex, multi-functional programs involving people, process, technology, governance, security, and operational readiness. Success in this role requires strong program leadership, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, business transformation expertise, and the ability to leverage automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve delivery outcomes. Key Responsibilities Transition Leadership Governance Lead the transition of new customers, service expansions, transformations, and complex change initiatives from contract signing through operational acceptance. Develop and execute transition plans, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, business objectives, service levels, and customer expectations. Establish governance structures, project plans, communication strategies, and executive reporting mechanisms. Manage all transition deliverables, milestones, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, decisions, and actions. Ensure operational readiness prior to service commencement, including process validation, tool implementation, staffing readiness, and knowledge transfer completion. Facilitate customer and executive steering committee meetings. Program Project Management Drive cross-functional collaboration across Delivery, Service Management, Engineering, Solutions, Security, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Sales. Own integrated project schedules and critical path management across multiple workstreams. Monitor progress and proactively identify and mitigate program risks and delivery challenges. Ensure transitions are delivered within approved budgets and planned timelines. Manage scope changes through defined governance and change control processes. Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned activities throughout the transition lifecycle. Customer Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary transition lead and trusted advisor to customer stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors, client leadership teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Communicate complex technical and business information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Manage customer expectations while balancing contractual commitments, business priorities, and delivery constraints. Escalate issues effectively and drive timely resolution. Digital Transformation AI Enablement Leverage AI-enabled project management, analytics, reporting, and workflow automation tools to improve transition efficiency and delivery quality. Utilize predictive analytics and operational insights to identify risks, resource constraints, and potential service impacts. Drive adoption of automation opportunities that eliminate manual processes and improve customer outcomes. Partner with engineering and delivery teams to incorporate AI-driven service management, knowledge management, and operational capabilities into transition plans. Use data visualization tools and dashboards to provide proactive reporting and executive-level insights. Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to improve transition execution and customer experience. Operational Excellence Ensure compliance with Lenovo standards, DWS methodologies, contractual requirements, regulatory obligations, and security policies. Validate service readiness criteria and transition exit requirements prior to operational handoff. Support operational stabilization efforts following go-live. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance scalability, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and audit requirements. Basic Qualifications 7+ years of experience in Transition Management, Program Management, Project Management, Service Delivery, or Digital Workplace Services. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading complex, global customer transitions involving multiple workstreams and stakeholders. Demonstrated success managing large-scale IT services, workplace transformation, outsourcing, managed services, or digital transformation programs. Experience working directly with executive leadership and customer stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in fast-paced environments. Strong understanding of Digital Workplace Solutions, End User Services, Service Management, and IT Operations. Knowledge of project and portfolio management methodologies including Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall approaches. Ability to create process maps, workflow designs, swim lane diagrams, and operational documentation. Experience leveraging AI-enabled productivity, reporting, workflow automation, or project management tools. Ability to interpret operational data and utilize analytics to support decision making. Familiarity with generative AI platforms, digital assistants, and automation technologies. Understanding of how AI, automation, and data-driven insights can improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
