DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99%.Job Summary Reporting directly to the Director, Supply Chain, the Estimator is responsible for supporting the Supply Chain team by obtaining and analyzing vendor quotations, evaluating material costs, and providing pricing recommendations to support competitive and compliant bids. This role works closely with Business Development, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders to ensure material pricing is accurate, timely, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost analysis, supplier communication, bid support, and material pricing strategies, with the ability to make sound recommendations based on quote analysis and market conditions. This role will be located at our Bedford, NS office.As an Estimator, your main responsibilities will include (but not limited to): Obtain vendor quotations for materials and components required for proposals, bids, and ongoing business needs. Analyze supplier pricing, lead times, terms, and other commercial factors to determine the best value. Review and evaluate material costs to support bid and proposal development. Work closely with Business Development to provide material pricing input and recommendations during the bid process. Develop and present pricing recommendations from a bid competitiveness and supply chain standpoint. Compare quotes from multiple vendors and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and delivery requirements. Support the preparation of cost estimates for materials based on drawings, specifications, BOMs, historical data, and supplier input. Maintain pricing records, supplier quote history, and supporting documentation for audit and reference purposes. Coordinate with internal teams including Procurement, Engineering, Program Management, and Finance to validate requirements and pricing assumptions. Monitor market trends, supplier conditions, and material cost changes that may impact pricing strategies. Assist in identifying supply risks and recommending mitigation strategies during the estimating and bidding process. Ensure all estimates and supplier information are handled accurately and within required timelines. What you require to be successful in the role: Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 2–4 years of experience in material estimating, procurement, supply chain, pricing, or cost analysis. Experience obtaining and evaluating vendor quotations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess costs and make practical recommendations. Experience supporting bids, proposals, or pricing activities is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with Business Development and cross-functional teams. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business systems; experience with ERP/MRP systems is an asset. Knowledge of supply chain processes, sourcing practices, and commercial considerations. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
