Lawyer – Investment Funds and Asset Management

A leading business law firm is seeking to recruit a lawyer to join its Securities group in Montreal, specifically within its Investment Funds and Asset Management practice. The firm advises asset managers, financial institutions, investment funds and key market players on complex, often cross-border mandates. The Role As a Securities Lawyer, you will work on investment funds and asset management mandates. You will be involved in the structuring, formation and operation of various investment vehicles, with direct exposure to regulatory, transactional and strategic issues. Responsibilities Draft and review fund agreements and investment-related documentation Participate in the structuring and formation of private equity and other investment funds Advise asset managers, financial institutions and investors on legal, regulatory and compliance matters Work on complex investment structures Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on strategic mandates Participate in cross-border matters Maintain professional relationships with market stakeholders Ideal Profile Member in good standing of the Québec Bar 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in investment funds and asset management Experience gained in private practice Excellent academic record Strong legal drafting and communication skills Strong analytical abilities Strong analytical and synthesis abilities High level of rigor and attention to detail Ability to thrive in a demanding environment Bilingual (French/English) Benefits Exposure to sophisticated mandates in investment funds and financial markets International and institutional client base Collaboration with recognized professionals Leading national and international platform Stimulating environment supporting rapid professional development Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits

Candidates must be a member in good standing of the Québec Bar with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in investment funds and asset management. Bilingualism in French and English and a strong academic record are required.
