LeverageTek is actively seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for a permanent, full-time position with its Ottawa area based customer. Work Location The successful candidate will be required to work 4 days per week on-site at the customer headquarters in Greater Ottawa Area. Key Tasks Monitor and analyze security alerts from Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Exchange Online Protection (EOP) Investigate and respond to phishing, malware, compromised accounts, and insider threats Conduct forensic analysis and proactive threat hunting using Microsoft Purview and Azure security tools Lead end-to-end incident response efforts — identify, contain, eradicate, and document security threats Develop and execute incident response playbooks for cloud and email security incidents Coordinate with IT and security teams to remediate threats and ensure business continuity Manage security controls and policies in Microsoft 365 Defender and Azure Security Center Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST through Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager Implement and optimize email security policies (EOP, Defender for O365) to minimize phishing risks Configure and monitor Azure AD Conditional Access Policies and mitigate risky sign-in activities Secure privileged access using Privileged Identity Management (PIM) Implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, sensitivity labels, and insider risk policies using Microsoft Purview Monitor and respond to potential data exfiltration attempts Key Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or Cloud Security with demonstrated hands-on incident response experience Strong SIEM experience, with Microsoft Sentinel preferred (Splunk or QRadar will be considered) At least one recognized cybersecurity certification, with CISSP strongly preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of Microsoft Security solutions including Azure, Office 365, EOP, and Microsoft Purview Experience with Microsoft Defender, Azure/Entra ID, and Exchange Online Protection Familiarity with email security, phishing detection, and incident response best practices Knowledge of PowerShell and KQL scripting for security automation is an asset Additional certifications such as AZ-500, MS-500, SC-200, or CEH are an asset Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and naturally curious with strong investigative instincts Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions during active security incidents Compensation $80,000 – $95,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, plus up to 15% performance bonus This is an existing position vacancy.
