IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY Interim Director Quality Reports: Vice President Duration: 12 months (Strong Possibility to Become Permanent) Location: Onsite- Windsor Our client is seeking an Interim Director Quality to join the leadership team during a period of substantial expansion and on a mission to double the size of business. This critical leadership role is responsible for delivering hands-on, yet strategic leadership for the quality department and deliver exceptional operational performance for the organization. Reporting to the Vice President, this role is responsible for driving continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, and maintaining compliance with the ISO 9001 quality management system. The position also leads the quality department, with accountability for developing team capabilities, enhancing departmental performance, and fostering a culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities Customer liaison for communication regarding quality, delivery and service issues or concerns Establishing, maintaining and improving Quality systems which meet or exceed all customer requirements Leading continuous improvement to reduce customer issues and concerns APQP/New Program support and lead when need be Monitor supplier performances, via ongoing deliveries and monthly scorecards Champion the IATF 16949-2016/ISO-9001-2015 Champion the Corrective Action activities Drive 5S structure in relation to quality objectives Internal scrap reduction, systems verifications via audits Meet customer specifics resulting in source able customer scorecards Manage Sample/Prototype and PPAP runs to assure customer compliance Manager/monitor direct reports in order to meet and achieve company objectives Schedule, monitor, follow-up on internal audits Manage problem solving for resolving customer, supplier, production issues Other duties assigned when needed Qualifications University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Quality; Masters preferred Minimum of ten (15) years of progressively more senior Quality Assurance leaders Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with TS/ISO Quality Systems, being ISO trained Quality leadership experience in the OEM automotive sector required Direct experience in 24/7 or continuous manufacturing operations Hands-on experience in traditional manufacturing environments where raw materials are transformed into finished components (as opposed to pure assembly-based operations). Experience in metals manufacturing (e.g., aluminum, steel, etc.), including processes such as rolling, forming, bending, or related metalworking operations. Solid understanding of material properties, process capability, and equipment performance. Demonstrated capability in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies (Lean, JIT, Six Sigma, Kaizen). Proven ability to design, implement, and sustain performance management systems to drive productivity, quality, and resource utilization. Track record of successfully leading operational and organizational change initiatives.
