IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY Interim Vice president - Mining Engineer Reports to: Chief Geological Officer Location: Canada Duration: 12 Month Remote (Local and international travel) Our client is seeking an experienced Vice president - Mining Engineer to support the advancement of a world-class mining project through its ongoing Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS). The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across both open pit and underground block cave mining disciplines, working alongside a high-performing team of mining industry professionals and third-party engineering consultants. The role will play a key part in de-risking the project and advancing it toward future development and acquisition opportunities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide senior-level mining engineering expertise for the PFS Study. Support mine planning and design activities for both open pit and underground block cave operations. Co-manage study workstreams with internal stakeholders and external consulting partners. Conduct production scheduling, mine optimization, and technical trade-off studies. Contribute to financial modeling, contingency estimation, and project evaluation activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including geology, ESG, finance, and business development. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 15+ years of mining industry experience. Extensive experience in both large-scale open pit and underground block cave mining operations. Previous involvement in Pre-Feasibility (PFS) and/or Feasibility Studies (FS). Strong mine planning, production scheduling, and project management capabilities. Experience integrating geotechnical, hydrological, and operational considerations into mine design a definite asset Experience with underground block cave software and cave footprint analysis. Understanding of water and power constraints in remote mining environments. Spanish language skills are considered an asset. IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will bring a blend of deep technical mining expertise, project study experience, and entrepreneurial mindset. They will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams, and identifying innovative solutions that add value as the Project progresses toward development readiness.
