We are recruiting a proactive and detail-oriented Security Analyst to join our growing IT department. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role plays a vital operational part in safeguarding our global infrastructure, networks, and digital assets against emerging cyber threats. The Security Analyst will actively participate in day-to-day security operations, including threat monitoring, alert triage, incident response support, vulnerability assessments, and security awareness training. Working collaboratively with the broader IT team, you will help continuously strengthen LMI’s security posture, policies, and operational workflows. Typical Duties, Activities, Responsibilities Security Operations & Monitoring: Investigate, analyze, and triage security alerts and events generated by EDR/XDR/other security solutions and systems. Detection & Rule Tuning: Continuously refine and optimize detection rules, suppression logic, and automation playbooks to reduce false positives. System & Vulnerability Management: Assist in identifying, prioritizing, and applying critical security updates and baseline configurations across enterprise systems and endpoints. Incident Response & Communication: Support security incident handling by performing initial containment, root-cause analysis, and clear communication of technical findings and mitigation steps to stakeholders. Security Awareness & Culture: Facilitate internal cybersecurity training initiatives, phishing simulation campaigns, and employee security education program updates. Compliance & Auditing: Participate in internal and external cybersecurity audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives. Documentation & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident post-mortem reports. Tool & Vendor Evaluation: Collaborate with the team to evaluate, implement, and support new cybersecurity software, cloud controls, and external cybersecurity consultants. Policy Enforcement: Uphold and enforce corporate IT, privacy, and information security policies across the organization. Business Unit Engagement: Collaborate directly with other LMI business units to assess, improve, and report on overall corporate security posture. Perform other related IT and security duties as required. Education and Qualifications Core Requirements: 2–3 years of combined hands-on technical experience in cybersecurity, IT support/sysadmin with a security focus, or relevant post-secondary education in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology. Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SANS GIAC (e.g., GSEC, GCIH), or equivalent industry-recognized credentials. Hands-on familiarity with modern EDR/XDR solutions. Solid understanding of Windows, MacOS, and Linux in an enterprise environment. Scripting capability (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for task automation and log analysis. Familiarity with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Cisco Meraki packet analyzer) and core networking concepts (firewalls, VPNs, switches, WiFi). Platform & Cloud Administration: Working knowledge of enterprise management platforms including Google Workspace Admin and Microsoft Intune, as well as cloud environments (Microsoft Azure/M365, AWS, GCP) and identity security (IAM, Active Directory/Entra ID, Zero Trust). Operational Tools: Hands-on familiarity with modern ticketing systems and project management software. Nice to Have: Experience with SIEM solutions. Familiarity with containerization and virtualization environments (Docker, Hyper-V, ProxMox). Exposure to IDS/IPS, NAC, or Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB). General understanding of security compliance frameworks and regulatory standards, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, OWASP, GDPR, and CRA (Cyber Resilience Act). Awareness or exposure to emerging security considerations, including Security for Agentic AI. Soft Skills & Competencies: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Self-motivated with high initiative and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written English) to translate technical concepts for diverse non-technical teams. A strong passion for continuous learning and staying updated on evolving cybersecurity threat landscapes. Salary Range: $64,000 - $80,000 CAD + Eligibility for Profit Sharing Program Participation (pending successful completion of probationary period and based on business performance).
